Half Stadio Olimpico in 2022-23 will always be filled: “How magical”
The season ticket campaign for the upcoming Serie A ended on July 15: over 36,000 passes sold. A.S.Roma's Ceo Berardi: "Great source of pride."
Over 36,000 Roma fans will always be in the stands of the Stadio Olimpico for Serie A’s 2022-23 season. This is the highest number of season ticket sales that we have seen in 18 years, confirming that no one loves their team as much as the Romanisti love Roma.
The season ticket campaign began back on May 18 and ended on July 15 at 6 p.m. This surge of ticket sales proves that last season was one of "brividi," countless and almost surreal sold-out games and extraordinary European nights. The passion has continued this summer, with lots of enthusiasm and anxious anticipation for the second year under José Mourinho's management.
"Romanisti's Roma," quoting the “Special One” himself in his introductory press conference, is now certain to have practically half a stadium always full for every match in the upcoming league and thus a boost from loud fans that, for example, stunned Bodø/Glimt in the Conference League quarterfinals. These ticket sales show a sure and unbreakable love that the fans have for Roma. This love is confirmed by other significant numbers such as the 90 percent renewal rate of last season's season-ticket holders, the wide adherence to the new "Plus" formula (chosen for about 40 percent of the cards) and the average of about 630 season tickets being bought every 24 hours during the 58 days of the ticket campaign.
A significant response is also expected for cup season tickets (for those that guarantee a place in the three matches of the Europa League round and the round of sixteen of the Coppa Italia final), which have reached about 11,000 since June 20 and will be available until August 24.
"We still have in our eyes the beauty of the last night at the Stadio Olimpico," club CEO Berardi told Roma's official website. "Everyone was able to admire the magic of the Giallorossi fans. We have a great desire to start the season again soon to relive that beautiful atmosphere, feeling again the affection and passion that our fans show us in every match."
Another statistic that is certainly dear to Berardi's heart is that more than 40 percent of the season tickets have been sold to fans under 25 years old, signifying a love from young fans as well.
"Knowing that 50 percent of the stadium will be occupied by people who have chosen to buy season tickets is a great source of pride and extra motivation for us," Berardi said.
